NEW MOON IN SAGITTARIUS + WINTER SOLSTICE
Closing a 9-Year Chapter & Letting the Light Return
December 17–21, 2025
OPENING SUMMARY
This week carries a different kind of energy.
Quiet. Heavy. Sacred.
We’re moving through a New Moon in Sagittarius alongside the Winter Solstice, the darkest point of the year and the moment the light slowly begins to return. Together, they create a powerful pause. Not a push forward. Not a rush to figure things out. Just a deep breath before the next chapter begins.
If you’ve been feeling tired, reflective, emotional, or unsure, you’re not behind. You’re right on time.
THIS IS A PAUSE, NOT A PUSH
This New Moon feels different because it’s sitting right next to the Winter Solstice. The moment when everything slows down and the light stops… then quietly turns back toward us.
This isn’t about charging ahead.
It’s about stopping long enough to feel where you actually are.
THE NEW MOON IS THE EXHALE
New Moons already ask us to go inward. To rest. To close chapters.
This one goes deeper.
It’s wrapping up a long 9-year cycle and asking you to be honest about what you’re done carrying.
Old beliefs.
Old stories about yourself.
Old versions of you that got you here… but can’t go forward with you.
You don’t need to fix them.
You just need to release them.
THE SOLSTICE IS THE SPARK
The Winter Solstice is when the Sun appears to stand still. Energetically, it’s the pause between endings and beginnings. Nothing is being forced into motion yet. The light is reborn quietly, from the dark.
So if you’re feeling tired, emotional, reflective, or foggy, that makes sense. Your system knows something is turning, even if your mind doesn’t have words for it yet.
YOUR BODY IS COMPLETING SOMETHING TOO
I’m hearing this everywhere.
Deep fatigue.
Achy hips, legs, lower back.
Weird sleep.
Wanting to unplug from everything and everyone.
This isn’t laziness.
This is your body integrating years of growth, grief, healing, and change.
Let it rest.
It’s doing important work.
THE EMOTIONS MIGHT SNEAK UP ON YOU
Even if you thought you were “past it.”
Memories can surface. Old relationships. Old dreams. Old versions of yourself. The 9-year cycle closes through compassion, not logic. So if this week feels tender, let it. Nothing is wrong with you.
THERE IS HOPE HERE, EVEN IF YOU CAN’T SEE IT YET
Sagittarius always carries vision. You might feel small flashes of what’s coming next. Not clear. Not ready. Just a quiet knowing.
Trust that.
The New Moon clears the space.
The Solstice reminds us that light always returns.
NEW MOON + WINTER SOLSTICE RITUAL
Closing the Old. Welcoming the Light Back.
When to do it:
Anytime between the New Moon and the Solstice. Evening is ideal, but trust what works for you.
What you’ll need:
• One candle (white, black, or gold)
• A journal or piece of paper
• A pen
• Optional: a crystal, blanket, or something grounding
STEP 1: CREATE THE PAUSE
Sit somewhere quiet. Light your candle.
Take three slow breaths.
In through the nose.
Out through the mouth.
Say:
“I give myself permission to slow down.”
That’s it. That’s the doorway.
STEP 2: RELEASE WHAT YOU’RE DONE CARRYING
This is the New Moon work.
Write without overthinking:
• What am I complete with?
• What beliefs, patterns, or stories am I ready to release?
• What version of myself am I gently laying to rest?
When you’re done, read it once. Then say:
“Thank you for what you taught me. I release you.”
Tear the paper, burn it safely, or fold it and set it aside.
STEP 3: HONOR THE DARK (WINTER SOLSTICE)
Place your hands on your heart or belly.
Say:
“I honor this stillness. I honor the dark. I trust the pause.”
Sit quietly for a minute or two.
No fixing. No manifesting. Just being.
This is where the Solstice magic lives.
STEP 4: INVITE THE LIGHT BACK IN
Ask yourself gently:
• What do I want to feel more of as the light returns?
• What energy am I open to welcoming?
Write a few words only.
Not goals. Not pressure. Just feeling states.
Peace. Trust. Clarity. Courage. Softness. Joy.
Say:
“I am open to what wants to grow next.”
STEP 5: CLOSE WITH GRATITUDE
Blow out the candle slowly.
Say:
“I trust this ending. I trust this beginning.”
Wrap yourself in a blanket. Drink water. Rest.
THE PERFECT CRYSTALS FOR THIS RITUAL
You don’t need all of these. Even one is enough if it’s the one you’re drawn to.
1. MOONSTONE
New beginnings • Emotional release • Inner truth
Moonstone anchors this ritual. It works directly with the New Moon energy, helping you release what’s complete and soften into what’s next. It supports emotional processing and trusting the pause.
Use it for: emotional release, intuition, gentle clarity.
2. LABRADORITE
Thresholds • Transformation • Trusting the in-between
Labradorite supports transitions and protects your energy while things are shifting. It’s especially powerful when the old version of you is dissolving and the new one hasn’t fully arrived yet.
Use it for: change, protection, faith in the unknown.
3. BLACK OBSIDIAN
Deep release • Grounding • Energetic closure
Obsidian helps clear emotional residue and cut energetic cords to the past. It grounds heavy feelings and creates safety as old patterns fall away.
Use it for: grounding, release, true closure.
How to use them together:
Hold Moonstone in your non-dominant hand.
Place Labradorite near your heart or throat.
Keep Obsidian near your feet or beside you.
CLOSING
This week isn’t asking you to have answers.
It’s asking you to be honest, gentle, and willing to let go.
Rest when you can.
Release what you’re done carrying.
Trust that even in the dark, the light is already returning.
From this stillness, something new is quietly forming.
Much love 💖
